Abstract
This is proposal for a research to find out the knowledge, attitude and practices of young mothers on sexuality after six weeks postpartum. Specifically, the study will address the following areas: physical status of young mothers on resumption of sexual intercourse after six weeks postpartum, explore the young mother's attitude on resumption of sexual intercourse and identify practices of young mothers on resumption of sexual intercourse after six weeks postpartum. A descriptive research design will be used in this study. The researcher will use a qualitative approach on this study. The study will be done on ten young mothers who came for check up after six weeks postpartum at Kawale Health Centre. These young mothers will be recruited using random sampling technique. The permission for data collection will be sought and subjects will be handled using ethical considerations. The results from the study will help to find out if young mothers resume sexual intercourse after six weeks postpartum. This time every tear that was caused during child birth has healed, the uterus has started to turn to its normal state and the lochia (discharges from the uterus after delivery) has stopped.
