Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the factors that influence the youth to early sexual relations. The study looked at how much information the youth get at their school and the specific reasons why they indulge into early sexual relations. The study also included the advantages and disadvantages that the youth perceive according to the ages of the men they are involved with and the problems they face. A quantitative research design was used and data was collected through a questionnaire. Data was presented on tables in categories indicated on the questionnaire. The study reveals that there is a large number of youth that are still involved in early sexual relations and are at risk of contracting HIV and AIDS. Despite the available information on the increase of HIV and AIDS through early sexual relations, the youth are still involved in the behaviour because they claim this is pleasurable and best to their interest while others say culture plays a major in their influence to early sexual relations. It is therefore important to incorporate these factors when making policies on behavioural change and other measures of reducing HIV and AIDS in the country.
