The study aimed at exploring the knowledge, attitude and practices of mothers on weaning process in relation to under five malnutrition at QECH. The study used a qualitative research design of which data was collected through a questionnaire and it involved 10 participants. The data was analysed manually through content analysis. The study found out that majority of mothers had knowledge of weaning practices, however, the majority of them started weaning their child from breast milk before recommended time despite having the knowledge. It was also observed that majority of mothers were not complying with the information on weaning practices despite the knowledge. It is recommended therefore that health workers must give health education that considers education level and socio-economic status when giving health education to improve knowledge and attitude of patients.en_US
