Abstract
Alcohol and drug abuse is one of the challenges that the youth encounter in their everyday life. The burden is cause of most mental health problems among the youth. Recently Malawi has registered a highest increase of alcohol and drug abuse. This study is aimed at assessing and evaluating, the knowledge, attitude and practices on alcohol and drug abuse among the youth of Mponda village, Balaka district. Its control idea is to identify and measure the gaps that can help to plan and implement measures that will help in dealing with the burden. The objectives of the study indicates the level of knowledge of youth on alcohol and drug abuse, identifying their practices after alcohol and drug abuse, describing the feelings of the youth after alcohol and drug abuse and determine the utilization of information on alcohol and drug abuse among the youth.. A quantitative study will be conducted. Data will be collected using questionnaires and a sample of 50 youths will be identified using anon-probability convenient sampling. Data will be analyzed manually.
