    Factors that contribute to labour and delivery services at Mulanje Mission Hospital
    (Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, 2010-07-01) Kachitsa, P. Gertrude
    The purpose of this study is to assess the factors that contribute to under utilisation of labour and delivery (maternity) services at Mulanje Mission Hospital. The study will use qualitative method. A sample of 10 mothers will be conveniently selected at family planning clinic. The subjects will be those mothers who have children under 24 months of age, attended antenatal at Mulanje Mission Hospital but did not deliver at the hospital. A letter asking for permission to conduct the study will go through the Research and Publications Committee of the Kamuzu College of Nursing. Three more letters asking for permission to conduct the study will also be sent to authorities of, Mulanje District Health office ,and Mulanje Mission Hospital (MMH) respectively. All the rights of the participants as well as that of MMH will be observed. The participants will be interviewed using an interview guide. Data collected will be analyzed manually using content analysis and presented in descriptive statistics. Findings of the study will be communicated to KCN library, MDH and MMH hospitals.
